Looks like you're missing a dependency.
Did you install the Guidance Automation Extensions and Guidance Automation Toolkit before installing the BizTalk Software Factory?
Make sure you take the Visual Studio 2005 version of the toolkit, not the 2008.

Guidance Automation Toolkit for Visual Studio 2005 - February 2008 Release
Guidance Automation Extensions - February 2008 Release

Let me know if you still experience problems.

Just tried an install and got the warning about missing GAT ...
Followed the provided link to ... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C0A394C0-5EEB-47C4-9F7B-71E51866A7ED&displaylang=en
Installed the GAT, then tried the BizTalk Factory ... got the same errors as "mail dcb"

Issue looks to be the link in the MSI is to July 2007 CTP, whereas you have the Feb 2008 above

Glad to say, uninstalled the July 2007, installed the Feb 2008 release and BizTalk Factory installed fine

PS. the Word documentation also looks to be the July links

PPS. the tool is well cool, and the guidance bits just plain great ... many thanks for all this work

You're right, the links in the documentation point to the wrong version of the GAT, Microsoft must have changed them to point to the most recent version.
Glad you found it yourself, it is indeed the Feb version that you need.
